The UCEED exam comprises two parts, with Part B focusing exclusively on the drawing section, a critical component that tests candidates’ sketching skills, creativity, and design aptitude. This blog provides a detailed overview of the UCEED drawing section syllabus, effective practice methods, and sample questions to help candidates excel.

Drawing Section Sample Questions
Here’s a list of sample questions you can refer to for practicing questions for the drawing section of the exam:
Question 1-
Draw the scene of a school-boy sitting in a room, studying a book, intensively, with no power but only candlelight in the room, being seated on the floor.
Give preference to:
pencil stroke
Size of objects
Proportion of objects with respect to the boy
Light condition of the room because of candle light
Finally, shading
Question 2-
Read and visualize the following:
• A rat is spotted inside a school canteen.
• A school boy is afraid and standing on a stool/chair.
• A brave school girl is chasing the rat out of the canteen.
• A tiffin box is falling on the floor.
• Two school bags and two water bottles are kept on a table.
• A few plates are broken and lying on the floor.
(30 minutes – 60 marks)
• The canteen owner is watching this in shock, standing on top of the counter table.
Sketch this scene from the canteen owner’s point of view.
Question 3-
You are three cm tall inside a 5-storey mall. You are standing on the Groundfloor looking at the First floor. Many people are shopping for clothes, Some people are standing on the grill, and the other crowds are moving up & down towards the colorful displays. Make a freehand perspective drawing of this setup, showing all the above elements.
Question 4-
A visit to a museum or a zoo is always something we look forward to with much excitement. But
such visits are very tiring too; after about an hour or so we look for a place to sit – a chair or bench,
that is never nearby. What if we could carry our own chair everywhere?
Design a portable seating device that you could carry in your backpack or hand bag. It should be light
enough to carry around, small enough to fit into your bag, easy to use, and good to look at.
Show the seating device when:
it has just been taken out of the bag and
it is ready to sit on.
Question 5-
The competitive examinations are finally over and you are going on a holiday. You are at the nearest railway station with your family and relatives, waiting for the train that you can see, arriving. The platform is bustling with activity. Other travellers with luggage, vendors and porters (and whatever else you are likely to observe) are also on the platform. Imagine and draw what you see, giving prominence to your family and relatives.
