NIFT B.Des exam, a national-level entrance test conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology(NIFT). NIFT CAT or Creative Ability Test is part of the NIFT entrance exam for bachelors degree at all the NIFT institutions.The NIFT exam evaluates candidates across various domains, including design aptitude, logical reasoning, understanding of English, communicative skills, verbal reasoning and general awareness of candidates with CAT contributing a significant fifty percent to the overall score.
The NIFT B.Des exam consists of two parts CAT(Creative Ability Test) and GAT(General Aptitude Test) where CAT consists of 50 percent of the B.Des exam. CAT exam tests a candidate’s intuitive ability, illustration skills, observation power, design ability, and concept development. - Develop Observation Skills – Keenly observe the world around you and take mental notes of things through various perceptions and try to doodle these observations.
- Conceptualization – Before you put a brush or pencil to paper, make sure you have a pretty solid conceptualization of the drawing or shape or want to create.
- Learn product drawing – Product drawing is the process of pictorially representing 3D objects in 2D. The 3D object can be anything that you see around you – the water flask, the laptop, mobile phone, bed, sofa, etc.
