The admission process at JD Institute of Fashion Technology involves the following steps:

  1. Registration – Register and apply at the official website of the institute. 
  2. Selection Rounds – Students are selected based on merit. The institute then sends confirmation letters to the selected students.
  3. Document Verification – Shortlisted students must keep the documents ready for verification. 
  4. Final Admission – Report at the institute and pay the admission fee in order to confirm the seat.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Exam Pattern 2025

For certain design programs, the institute conducts the General Aptitude Test (GAT). The GAT is structured as follows:

  • Mode: Online
  • Duration: 120 minutes
  • Rounds:
    • Round 1: Situation Test (45 minutes): Candidates are presented with a problem and are assessed on their creative approach, draping, and material handling skills. This round evaluates problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.
    • Round 2: Personal Interview: Conducted by two panelists, this interview can be in English or Hindi, depending on the candidate’s preference. It aims to understand the candidate’s mindset, interests, and reasons for choosing design and the JD Institute. 

It’s essential to note that not all programs require the GAT. Most of the programs in the institution are merit-based.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Selection Process 2025

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Eligibility: Candidates must have completed their 12th standard from a recognized board. A minimum aggregate of 50% is typically required, though this may vary depending on the specific program.
  • Selection Process: Admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the 12th standard examination. There is no entrance exam for these programs.

Postgraduate Programs:

  • Eligibility: Candidates should have completed their undergraduate studies from a recognized university. Specific eligibility criteria may vary by program.
  • Selection Process: Similar to undergraduate admissions, selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the undergraduate examination. An entrance exam is generally not required for these programs.

Diploma Programs:

  • Eligibility: Candidates must have completed their 10th or 12th standard from a recognized board, depending on the specific diploma program. 
  • Selection Process: Admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the 10th or 12th standard examination. There is no entrance exam for these programs.

For programs that require the General Aptitude Test (GAT), the selection process includes:

  • GAT Entrance Exam: Assesses the candidate’s creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Personal Interaction: Evaluates the candidate’s communication skills and suitability for the program.

The final selection is based on the combined performance in these two components.
