The Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, is a leading institution focused on blending traditional crafts with modern design education. IICD Admission Process 2025

The admission process at the institute includes the following steps:

  1. Fill the online application form through the IICD Website.
  2. Fulfill the eligibility criteria as given below in the blog.
  3. Appear for the Entrance Exam conducted by the institute.
  4. Qualifying candidates then need to appear for the Interviews.
  5. The candidates may also have to submit a Portfolio.
  6. Selection of the candidate will be based on the above tests.
  7. The selected candidates will be notified via message or email.
  8. The selected candidates then need to verify their documents and pay the admission fee.

IICD Exam Pattern 2025

The institute conducts its own entrance exam in online mode. The details of the exam are given below:

A. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test:

This test is designed to evaluate the abilities and interests of students, such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.

B. Material, Color & Conceptual Test:

This test will assess the following abilities:

  • Intelligent use of materials, conceptualize and realize a 3 dimensional form, skill of handling material.
  • To observe, think and expand ideas, create solution based on a plan and strategy.
  • Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.

Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test:

  • Candidates must bring pens, pencils (HB, 2B, 4B & 6B), scissors, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, compass, color pencils/dry pastels/watercolor, brushes etc.

IICD Selection Process 2025

The selection process at the institute includes the following steps:

  1. Fufill the eligibility criteria.
  2. Appear for the Entrance Exam conducted by the institute.
  3. Qualifying candidates then need to appear for the Interviews. Parameters tested in the Interview process are:
  • Aptitude to crafts
  • Intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Communication Ability
  • General Awareness about Crafts & Design
  • Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities
  1. The candidates may also have to submit a Portfolio:
  • It is advisable to bring a few samples of your creative work for display during the interview, to allow others to understand your capabilities. It could be anything that you have done by yourself. Sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, working with material, or have written anything creative, narrative etc.
  1. Selection of the candidate will be based on the above tests.
  2. The selected candidates will be notified via message or email.
  3. The selected candidates then need to verify their documents and pay the admission fee.
