IDeA World College B.Des Admission Process: Eligibility, Exam Pattern, and Selection Process

Run by faculty from IIT, Kharagpur, IDeA World College is India’s Oldest Private Design College.  The college offers a bachelor in Design in fashion design and interior design. Any candidate who wishes to pursue these courses should read this blog to understand more about their admission process and exam criteria as well as eligibility criteria for the fee structure of BDes courses.

IDeA World College Admission Process

Once the candidate fills up the application portal the counselling process will start. Every candidate must attend an entrance exam called the IDEA exam for which details would be provided in the counselling process. After clearing the exam, candidates will have to fill out the admission form provided by IDeA College. Candidates can make a down payment of 30% of their fees to book their seats. However, further payment for fees can be scheduled by the fee collection officer on the same day. Candidates will have to go through three stages as summarised below:

IDeA World College Eligibility

The Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design program lasts three years and includes one year of internships. The minimum eligibility requirement is passing 12th grade from a recognised university or  PUC.

IDeA World College Fee Structure

 The candidate can expect payment of Rs 11.96 lakh for bachelor of design courses. This however is complimented by its good return on investment of placement of 4.25 LPA.  The college provides multiple facilities to accommodate all costs of candidates.

IDeA World College Exam Pattern

IDeA holds its own entrance exam, ‘The Intelligence Design Evaluation Assessment’. The exam is conducted in MCQ format.  The questions asked in the sample mock test have been around brain teasers, English comprehension skills as well and font or art-style questions.

We are adding a few similar questions that can be asked As brain teasers to test candidates’ ability in aptitude:

IDeA World College Selection Process

 The selection process of IDeA World College is based on both admission tests as well as personal interviews. The first stage is the admission test after which the candidate is called for a personal interview. Candidates can create their portfolio beforehand to get an edge against their competitors.

Following is the list of documents required during the application process,  Candidates should ensure that they have soft copies of each document mentioned in the following list:

• Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate
• Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate
• Passport-size photograph

 When the candidate is admitted into the college, make sure to have your documents verified at their admission centre. Following is the list of documents required during the admission process
