Kerala Institute of Fashion Technology also known as IFTK was established by the Kerala government in technical collaboration with India’s top fashion design college NIFT to promote fashion designing in Kerala. It offers the Bachelor of Design Course (B.Des) with a duration of 4 years. It is an AICTE approved college and affiliated to University of Kerala and is run by Kerala government. It is the best choice for anyone living in Kerala and wanting to study in a government college. Eligibility Criteria

• You must have passed 12th examination from a recognized board.
• Admissions are subject to the clearance of the aptitude test conducted by LBS Centre for Science and Technology.

• An application fee of Rs. 1500 is charged.
• Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates.

Facilities Provided

• To encourage student participation in extra curricular activities, clubs have been formed to enable the students to interact with each other leading to an all round personality development.The clubs function under the guidance of the faculty/officer in charge. The clubs function in the activity hour. The club activities are held throughout the year and the final activities of the clubs are highlighted during the annual event.
• IFTK offers fee subsidies to students who are in need of financial assistance. Students who are interested in availing themselves of this facility should submit their application along with a parental income certificate and contact the IFTK office after admission.
• IFTK intends to provide residential accommodation for girls & boys. Though IFTK presently does not have campus hostel facilities, sufficient residential accommodation is being arranged near the institute. IFTK hostels are run on a no profit/no loss basis.All the hostel premises are provided with round the clock professional security and hostelwarden.
• The canteen on the campus provides hygienic and fresh food at reasonable rates. The variety of foodstuffs available and a friendly atmosphere make the cafeteria ideal for students to relax and interact with their peers.
• The education programmes at IFTK are extensively integrated with fashion business. The intense and dynamic interaction between the industry and academics provides requisite insight and appreciation of business concepts. Internship and industry visits as well as real life projects, seminars and interactions provide opportunities for students to appreciate and understand the working of the industry.
