Q. Draw and colour a cosy reading nook in a modern studio apartment. Label the key elements. Show textures, lighting, and furniture from a 2D or 3D perspective.
Q. Illustrate the idea of “Minimalism” in interior space. Use only 3 objects and a background.

Aptitude Test for Interior Design
1. Visual & Spatial Ability
Spatial Ability assesses how well you can imagine and manipulate 2D and 3D objects. For example, you may be asked: “Which 3D shape will you get if you fold this net?” or “A top view and side view of a room are given, and you’ll have to identify the corresponding front view.”
2. Creativity & Design Sense
Candidates with a good design sense have an eye for aesthetics, colour harmony, layout balance, and proportions. For example, if you’re designing a small living room, which colour palette would make the room appear more spacious and relaxing?

3. Logical Reasoning & Pattern Recognition
As a future designer, you should be able to recognise patterns, so CAT assesses your ability to spot patterns and solve puzzles. For example, find the next figure in the sequence based on rotations, flips, or additions.
4. Observation & Attention to Detail
A candidate should be able to spot inconsistencies or subtle changes in a visual. For example, look at two images of a room and find 5 differences in furniture layout, lighting, or structure.
